Two Figures (Meeting Place) by Sean Henry
Comprising two figures set apart by several metres along a pathway, Sean Henry’s life-size sculptural forms suggest a potential dialogue and connection between the participants who are as yet to meet. Having painted surfaces, Two Figures (Meeting Place) appears natural and life-like, a technique employed by Henry which revives the ancient tradition of multicoloured sculpture. Familiar with the Westway and the surrounding pedestrian routes, Henry selected this canal-side location for his commissioned artwork, intending to provide a link between Little Venice and Paddington Station plus a resonance with people’s day to day life at Paddington Central.
