Cruise down Regent’s Canal with London Shell Co
Set sail on The Prince Regent on Mother’s Day weekend while enjoying the finest British seafood exploring the beautiful and historic canals of North West London. Travelling London Zoo and Regent’s Park and through the iconic Maida Hill Tunnel, lunch cruises operate on Saturdays and Sundays with a five-course set menu for £65.
Doors open at midday for a 12:30pm departure. (If you miss out – try their moored sister restaurant The Grand Duchess which also serves up amazing seafood from Cornish day-boat fishermen).
Enjoy a bottomless brunch at Darcie & May
Served from 10am-3:30pm Saturday and 12pm-3:30pm on Sundays at Darcie & May, their epic bottomless brunch is legendary serving up one sweet and one savoury dish each (choose from sourdough French toast featuring maple cinnamon glaze, honeycomb, rosewater syrup, fermented rhubarb and pistachio or smoked salmon, avocado, poached eggs, lemon and dill hollandaise, crispy capers and twice-baked house croissant) with free-flowing fizz and mimosas for 90 minutes for £42.50pp.
Vegan noodles and more at wagamama
For vegan lunch and dinner, wagamama’s innovative plant-based menu is inspired serving up vegan sticky ribs (mushroom and soya protein ‘ribs’ coated in sweet and spicy sticky sauce, garnished with sesame seeds and fresh spring onion) and vegan chilli squid (lightly battered pulled king oyster mushrooms coated in shichimi and served with a sticky dipping sauce).
Enjoy tasting menus at Ayllu
With freshly made sushi, a la carte menus, tasting menus and innovative cocktails, Ayllu’s fusion of Peruvian-Japanese food makes for an elegant and delightful lunch or dinner out. Friday and Saturday nights are made for live DJs while Saturday and Sundays (12pm-4pm) host brunch tasting menus of salmon tacos, beef bao buns and chocolate maki. From brunch and lunch to evening plates, The Union is one of the most welcoming spots at Paddington Central with a team who really know how to serve up a good time. Bloody Marys and Steak Frites are perfect for lazy Sunday mornings while lunch is crowd-pleasing eclectic menu of Thai yellow vegetable curry, Treacle cured streaky bacon sourdough sarnie with fruity brown sauce and polenta-fried chicken and waffle with kimchi and smoked sriracha. With huge tables, this is the perfect place to meet up with friends’ families and celebrate being together on Mother’s Day.

Served mezze style, this Lebanese restaurant is one of Paddington Central’s dining gems. With an expansive menu of Middle Eastern classics (humous, fattoush, sambousek, kebabs and halloumi fresh off the grill, pulled beefs) and cocktails including Old Fashioneds and Virgin Pina Colada, grab a huge table and celebrate Mother’s Day in style.
Plan a proper cocktail hour at Pearl Liang
Pearl Liang is known for its signature dishes of dim sum, Steamed Scottish Hand-Dived Scallops, Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab and Mixed Seafood Noodles and Peking Duck and now it’s added a late-night cocktail bar too. Serving up Mandarin Bellinis (champagne with Mandarin Napoléon, Crème de Pêche and White Peach Purée) and Cherry Blossom Martini (Grey Goose Orange Vodka shaken with fresh raspberries, lemon juice, Sirop de Gomme and a dash of Maraschino Liquor). This is a grown-ups’ night out.
Enjoy bottomless brunch at Pergola
Sundays at Pergola are all about the bottomless brunch (bookable at 12pm, 2pm and 4pm) with two hours of Prosecco or Camden Hells for £25pp. Their onsite street food stalls have burgers from Filth & Co, Japanese bites from Yuki and Kwispy fried chicken while children are welcome from 12pm-5pm. If the weather is good then head upstairs to their open-air terrace. Afterwards, don’t forget to explore Paddington Central’s colourful art and sculptures including Paddington Bear himself.
Take a long lazy Sunday lunch at Smith’s Bar & Grill
Smith’s Bar & Grill specialises in Modern British and European menus and also has a beautiful spacious bar and outdoor terrace that’s perfect for spring days. For Sunday lunches, their very very good Yorkshire puddings are served up with 28 days dry-aged British Chateaubriand, British lamb leg, free-range whole roasted poussin marinated with lemon and thyme, slow-roasted free-range pork accompanied by duck fat roast potatoes, honey-roasted carrots, tenderstem broccoli and gravy. Sunday sorted in other words.
Taste test British cheese with paired wines and beers
The Cheese Barge at Paddington Central has become one of London’s most acclaimed restaurants thanks to its love of British cheese, welcoming team and enjoyable dining.
A beautiful 96ft double decker barge moored on the Regent’s Canal, they serve up seasonal cheeseboards with piccalilli, chutneys and cherry and amaretto jam; slow-braised beef shin spelt risotto with fresh goats’ curd; out-of-this world grilled sandwiches and baked Baron Bigod to share – all paired with small producer wines and craft beers.
Go wine tasting at Vagabond Wines
Vagabond Wines have 100 different wines available for you to try (each wine has detailed tasting notes so your palate is in the very best of hands) – all of them available by the glass. Excitingly, they also have their own urban winery where they create their own minimal intervention wines. Their new Afternoons at Vagabond offer is perfect for Mother’s Day where you can enjoy any bottle of Vagabond wine for £18 with a sharer platter for £8.50. Delicious.
