From new commutes to your morning coffee
If you’ve enjoyed working from home this year, you’ll also know it does have its pitfalls (bad coffee, laptop backache, endless Zoom calls) so as we begin to slowly return to offices, we’ve collated a guide to the best things about being back at work at Paddington Central (most of them involve food). It’s good to see you…
Embrace a new commute
As we start to enjoy more flexible ways of working, the packed commuter hour is hopefully a thing of the past. Transport For London are encouraging people across the capital to rethink their commute so they can walk and cycle to work if possible.
If you’re thinking of cycling or walking, we recommend you use our handy journey planner here and, if you don’t have your own bike, Brompton Cycle Hire has a locker on Sheldon Square. With the iconic folding bikes available from just £3.50 a day, it’s an incredibly smart way to get round town. There is also a host of Santander Cycles ports around the outskirts of Paddington Central too.
- Finally, get a decent morning coffee
We have excellent news: Beany Green and Darcie & May Green are all open again with some of the best specialist coffee (made from beans sourced by their Aussie stablemates, The Roasting Party) in London.
Beany Green (along with Huckster, Pergola and Starbucks) are also taking part in the Eat Out to Help Out scheme this August with 50% off food. Yes! Click here to find who’s open and their latest offers.
- Relax in a safe and welcoming spot
With new signage, one-way systems, deep cleaning and hand sanitising stations alongside Plexiglass and PPE for our teams, we’re making sure that everyone who works and visits Paddington Central feels safe and protected. Read our useful guide here to find out how.
- Soak up some sun and work outdoors
Thanks to our superfect WiFi access, you can enjoy the outdoor terraces of Smith’s Bar & Grill, Vagabond Wines, Beany Green, The Union, The Grand Duchess and Darcie & May Green while catching up on emails. Or...
- ...Enjoy a really good lunch with much-missed office mates
Make the most of the Eat Out to Help Out scheme this August with 50% off food at Beany Green, Huckster, Pergola, Starbucks, Vagabond.Wines, The Grand Duchess, London Shell Co, Darcie & May Green, Smith’s Bar & Grill and Ayllu once again embrace the delights of Paddington Central’s acclaimed bar and restaurants.
From burgers at The Union and grabbing much-missed baguettes, wraps and salads at Pret to takeout and eat surrounded by the welcoming green of the Amphitheatre, sitting down to lunch with your team mates is a luxury we’re glad to have back.
- Keep an eye on your own wellbeing with The Sessions
With fascinating talks, weekly fitness sessions from Zip Fit Club, The Sessions are still available online for everyone. Learning new skills and keeping fit has been an essential part of lockdown with a host of benefits – so watch this space for new and inspiring classes from us in the next few months.
- Get takeout delivered directly to you
Lords Of Poké is back! On Wednesday and Fridays, you can get its vibrant bowls of Hawaiian poké delivered to you direct by ordering here.
