Ginuary at Paddington Central

If Dry January’s not your thing, then embracing Ginuary (in moderation, of course) is the perfect alternative and the chance to try some exciting new gin flavours to boot.

From Martinis, Negronis and the Tom Collins to the classic G&T, the UK just can’t get enough of gin at the moment, with sales surpassing £2 billion in the last year.

So, of all the gin joints in all of Paddington Central, we pick out a few of our favourite places to celebrate Ginuary. Cheers!

Beany Green
6c Sheldon Square, Paddington Central, W2 6EZ
From Wednesday to Friday, Beany Green transforms itself into a vibrant gin bar. With over 10 different gins and a variety of innovative garnishes, you can be sure you'll find a new favourite way of enjoying your post-work G&T. They also serve up a mean cocktail – the pineapple and lemon verbena cooler and the raspberry sour will scratch that gin itch for you.

HUCKSTER
4 Kingdom Street, Paddington Central, W2 6BD
HUCKSTER are currently offering a two-for-the-price-of-one promotion on most of their cocktail list and there are plenty of Ginuary-friendly options to choose from. The Botanist (Botanist gin, Italicus liqueur, lemon zest and 1783 salty lemon tonic) and Cornell’s Cucumber Cooler (Bombay Sapphire gin, fresh cucumber, fresh mint leaves, squeezed limes and 1783 cucumber tonic) would be at the top of our list.

Pergola Paddington
5 Kingdom Street, Paddington Central, W2 6PY
With 14 different gins listed on their menu as well as an array of gin-based cocktails, winter warmers and botanicals, you could realistically spend the whole of Ginuary at Pergola and still not try everything. But given the weather outside, why not start with a Sloe Toddy (Sipsmith sloe gin, gingerbread syrup, orange, apple) to warm yourself up?

The Hidden
25 Sheldon Square, Paddington Central, W2 6EY
At The Hidden, they promise to create great cocktails using traditional methods and forgotten recipes and a quick look down their cocktail menu proves they’re not kidding. How could you possibly resist a Thor Storm (gin, tarragon, thyme, cucumber, elderflower, aloe vera, peppercorn, egg)?

The Union Bar
4 Sheldon Square, Paddington Central, W2 6EZ
A well-made G&T is an underappreciated art and The Union won’t disappoint with a good selection of gins and Fevertree tonics. They also offer classic cocktails including the Negroni (gin, campari, vermouth) and the Long Island Ice Tea (gin, rum, lime and ginger beer).
