Sit back and enjoy a unique experience on the Puppet Theatre Barge in Little Venice. Take a look at the upcoming productions, great for children and adults.

The River Girl

3rd November - 26th November

Wendy Cope’s poem The River Girl takes us into the profoundly uncomfortable territory of male artists and the treatment of their female partners. Exposed in many a biography of writers, artists and actors is a partner whose personality is subordinate to that of the “star”. Wendy Cope uses a mixture of humour and irony to chart the course of one such relationship between a poet and his lover. Using the distinctive marionettes and the intimate atmosphere of the Puppet Theatre Barge, the company creates a unique theatrical event. Suitable for adults.

The Hare and the Tortoise and other tales from Aesop

5th November - 11th November

Aesop’s Fables is an exciting collection of tales, all told with wood-carved marionettes, culminating in the evergreen classic The Hare and the Tortoise. Other stories feature storms to be weathered, ferocious lions to be overcome, and a group of daredevil mice who plot to hoodwink the cat. As ever with Aesop, there are always a few morals to take away. Suitable for everyone down to 3 year olds.
