Volunteer opportunities at the Canalway Cavalcade

It’s almost that time of year again when Little Venice is transformed by over a hundred colourful boats, live music, refreshment stands, craft stalls and plenty of family fun for the IWA Canalway Cavalcade 2019.

To ensure the festival remains one of the biggest events in the nation’s waterways calendar, they could use some extra help.

Volunteers needed

Cavalcade is organised by a core team of dedicated volunteers who meet every 6-8 weeks in London to discuss progress and share ideas. The increasing success of the event means they are looking for new, enthusiastic team members to join in the fun of running this colourful spectacle every year.

In particular, they are looking for an Administration Coordinator and also an Assistant Publicity & Social Media Manager. But they would also love to hear from anyone who would like to help out – they never turn a willing volunteer away!

You don’t need previous experience, you just need to be willing to donate a few hours of your time every month – and three days in May.  If you would like to join the team, or for more information, please contact the chairman, Mark Saxon at mark.saxon@waterways.org.uk.

Volunteers are also needed to assist during the three days of the event so, if you think you can spare a few hours between 4-6 May, please go to the IWA website where the volunteer registration form can be downloaded or completed online.
