This is a challenging time for us all. While our days are looking a little different and the places we usually work and play feeling like a distant memory, we thought we’d share an update of what we’re doing at Paddington Central to support our community.
We also thought you might like to know how you can help.

Give the gift of food
Our local foodbank North Paddington Foodbank is seeking donations. They are dealing with a huge increase in demand and, as a result, are suffering a shortage of supplies. You can make donations of non-perishable goods or a financial contribution via their website.
Paddington Central are supporting Brompton Bikes to distribute the foldup machines, which are free to hire to NHS workers for the duration of the Covid19 pandemic.
Brompton have launched a crowd funder to build 1,000 bikess painted in NHS colours to avoid staff having to use pubilic transport.

What we're doing
Over recent weeks, British Land’s Communities team has been working with our network of local partners to identify how together, we can best support them.
Emergency Response Fund
We are providing an emergency response fund to support our community partners’ critical work.
St Mary’s Hospital
At Paddington Central we are working with our local hospital, St Mary’s, to offer parking spaces at Paddington Central and are exploring other ways we can support them and key workers in the area.
Corporate Community Investment Fund
British Land has been able to re-deploy the remaining £250,000 within its corporate Community Investment Fund, directly to help communities across the country respond to the impact of Covid-19 over the next few months.
We have doubled our annual donation to Shelter to £50,000 to support their helpline, which has seen a sharp rise in calls from people worried about their jobs and homes as a result of the virus.
We know that many of you will already be doing a great deal to support your communities. If you would like to get involved in the response around Paddington Central, our Community Manager, Adonica Simmons, is keen to hear from you and can provide further information about how you can help, whether via donations or remote volunteering.
