Paddington Central and London Shell Co. Host chef Elizabeth Haigh for trilogy of dinner cruises this April

Paddington Central is delighted to announce that chef Elizabeth Haigh (nee Allen) will be joining an all female team at London Shell Co. for a series of three special dinners in April. Celebrating 100 years of women having the right to vote, the foodie cruises will take place aboard the Prince Regent barge which sails along Regent’s Canal from Paddington Central. The dinner cruises will occur over three consecutive weeks on Wednesday 11th, 18th and 25th April and tickets will be priced at £45, or £100 with matching wines. Guests will enjoy a special five course menu created by Elizabeth, complemented by optional wines chosen by female winemakers.

Elizabeth Haigh is renowned for creating refined food with rustic techniques. She trained under esteemed chef Neil Rankin at Smokehouse in Islington before earning a Michelin star at Hackney’s Pidgin in 2016. Leaving Pidgin just before the star was awarded, she is set to launch her own restaurant, Shibui, in London. Elizabeth’s passion for cooking with fire and butchery expertise will be reflected in her especially crafted menu for the dinner cruises.  Barbecued meats will feature alongside 24-hour smoked vegetables and more. 

To accompany the food, Caroline Brangé of Stannary Street Wine Co. will pair each plate with a specially chosen wine. Having worked as a sommelier at some of London’s most exciting restaurants including 28-50, Caroline has a strong understanding and passion for food and wine pairings. Female winemakers from Hattingley Valley and Flint Wines will also select pairings for the dinners. 

London Shell Co. aboard the Prince Regent launched in 2016 by sibling duo Leah and Harry Lobek offering daily changing menus with a focus on homegrown ingredients. Dishes are served whilst guests enjoy a journey along the beautiful and historic Regent’s Canal in Central London past iconic landmarks such as London Zoo and Regents Park. 

For each event both Elizabeth and Leah will be decked in chef trousers by Polka Pants. Designed specifically to cater for the growing number of women working in kitchens, Polka Pants’ lively creations are made for functionality and comfort, as well as style. The team has created a limited edition design especially for the chefs for the dinner cruises.
